What is the best rat to buy FOR RAT OWNERES OR BREEDERS ONLY2007-11-24 22:17:05

I lilked the hooded rat. I dont know if that is a good breed. I need to know which breed is the best and why. Which breed is more agile? Which breed is the most freindly. I have had hamsters, 2 of them and they where different breeds. They had different personalitys because of the differ in breeds. I will cut to the chase,

It's really not dependant on coloration or breed...

Each rat has thier own personality...

I have 11 rats...

3 blues, 2 rex, 3 hooded, 2 dumbos, 1 brackshire.

I can say that they are all VERY friendly and smart...If you personally like the looks of a hodded rat, then get a hooded, the more you love it and teach it, the friendlier and smarter it will be...

It really has NOTHING to do with coloration...

by all means, purchase a warf rat. they are cute and cuddly and can get to be the size of a canine. they love to dig around for food all over in ur house, it's adorbable.

I used to have two rats. One was a hooded rat and one was albino. They were both about the same age. My albino rat died before my hooded one. I think he had some form of cancer because all his hair feel out and he had lumps. My mother used to breed rats when she was in college and she said she was always more succesful with the hooded rats. Besides their so cute!

I've had hooded, agouti, black, sandy, and a Himalayan (white with brown points), all females. My favorite one personality-wise was the agouti, Peri. She would ride on my shoulder, and I would often go to PetSmart with her. She was also the youngest when I got her, which may account for her temperament.
