What is the best type of hamster for children
What is the best type of hamster for children2007-11-24 22:17:06Answers:
I would say the Black hamsters, they are bred to be gentle. We've had 2 and they were the sweetest hamsters we have ever had. We never got bit.
russian dwarfs, or cinnamon hamsters. they are on the smaller side. teddy bear hamsters are very kind and gentle but are bigger.
...theyre all pretty much the same, I wouldn't recommend one for a child because they can easily be killed. I used to kill all my hamsters when i was little, I can't believe my mom kept getting me more. They also bite.
Long Haired TeddyBear Hamster.
We have two. When you pick one out make sure he's not skittish. My kids love them. We have had them for about 2 weeks now. They can hold them and cuddle with them. They love the roll ball that goes around the house.
They can bite, but this hamster is the most tame out of all of them. My kids have yet to be bit by our hamsters.
The best hamster for children age 5 and up is the Syrian Hamster, or A.K.A. the Teddy Bear Hamster. Children Should not have hamsters when they are younger than five, only for the life of the hamster and not to be dropped, or get its eyes squeezed out of its head.
What age is the child? Smaller hamsters are okay for older children - who are capable of understanding that squeezing the animal could kill it, and that it may bite. Guinea pigs are slightly larger and more durable for younger kids, but again, they can bite.
i think that a robot hamster is a good idea because the real hamster is for like teens unless your going to take good care of it.
Teddy Bear Hamster is best. They're fluffy, chubby, and soooo cute.
Some people love hamsters, but Im not sure what it is, but I have worked in pet stores for years and they never fail to bite the s*** out of me. I am a mouse and rat lover. I love them because they are sweet, intelligent, and NEVER bite me. I would recommend a rat, they are nearly indestructable, if a child drops, squeezes, or whatever to a rat, they WILL NOT BITE A CHILD and they are very hardy. I had a hamster bit me when I was very little, they it screamed and jumped out of my hands fell on the floor and broke its back, and I was very upset when she died. Rats know better then to jump off you. Rats and mice are also FAR more intelligent than hamsters and gerbils, how do I know this? I"M AN EXPERT AND HAVE READ dozens of books and scientific reports. I don't BS so you can trust my advice, I'm an expert.
syrian hamsters or also known as teddy bear hamsters for sure
If you insist on getting a hamster, a Russian Dwarf hamster would probably be the best type. Or a teddy bear hamster. Teddy bear hamsters are quite big but are quite a delight and very friendly. Russian dwarf hamsters are very soft and also friendly.
