My rat, Carter, who passed recently, used to store all of the shells for his sunflower seeds in his food bowl, then when my dog, Chelsea would get near his cage, he would push his bowl to the edge of the cage and pelt her with the shells. He of course ended up hitting her with his food too, not just the shells, and Chelsea never figured out where it was coming from, but just knew food was falling out of the sky, so she started trying to catch them. After a while, Carter would get bored and tip the bowl and try to dump it on Chelsea's head.

Now we have a new rat, Lily, and Chelsea will sit in front of Lily's cage, I guess waiting for her to throw food, but Lily never does.

Also, when I would put Carter in his Kritter Krawler, he would sit in it and pivot so that the ball didnt move, but he could turn and would look for Chelsea, and when he saw her, he would run full force at her and chase her all over the first floor of the house. To get away Chelsea would hop up on the first stair, and when she did Carter would lay down and stay very still, I guess pretending he was asleep, and when Chel tried to sneak past him, he would take off after her again.
