What is this and what should we do with it
If it does like you, don't let it go, it'll die out there because it's way too young. Make sure you care for it all the time and give it all your love. Unless you can find its mother.
If you don't give it your love and let it be familiar with you, it will eventually go back to its wild animal state and will attack you.
Keep it for a while and feed it with milk through a baby bottle. Eventually, it will grow and you can give it vegetables, berries, some nuts (they'll get really fat), bird eggs, and earthworms (although some don't eat them).
When it has finally grown up, you can release it to the wild. It needs to go back to the environment because chipmunks help mother nature because they plant seeds for plants to grow, eat fungi that will eventuall by needed back by the environment, and they're going to want more bird eggs.
Plus, they only breed once a year (if you're in north america). Come on, wouldn't you need to go back into the wild and search for a mate if you can only mate once a year? haha lol
It is a baby chipmunk, take it to a wild animal shelter or if you plan on keeping it feed it a combination of kitten formula(yes kitten milk formula, it is what I was advised to feed a baby rabbit until it was old enough to eat solid food, apparently kitten formula is good for rodents as well as kittens and the rabbit is now 4 yrs old and very healthy)and when it's old enough, gerbil/hamster food from the pet store.
this looks like a baby chipmunk. call your vet and have them contact a wildlife rescue center. it needs to be properly taken care of. call a vet and see if there is anything they can do for it. it might be dehydrated if ti has been out there for a long time. it doesn't look like he will be able to survive on his own. and move him to a cleaner box. that stuff behind him looks revolting.
Chipmunk! I say the woods, near a creek. I'm not sure what Chipmunks eat, but good luck!
that little guy is a chipmunk! I live out in the countryside and have seen a bunch of them. Call the local animal rescue and they should give you numbers for a wildlife rescue around your area. In the mean time you should get the cats milk replacer at your local petstore and feed it too him with a dropper you can get in the small animal isle. Please dont try to keep it as a pet though
a chipmunk, call the animal rescue people who take care of them til they can go in the wild, it l;ost its mom, or its way home.
the body kinda looks like a chipmunk's but the head doesnt. the vet may know what to do
