Hamsters love tunnels - the first hamster came from the Syrian desert. They burrow and keep food in one area and sleep in another. tunnels are ideal for them. If you have a cage they can swing from the bars but remember they are very short sighted and have no concept of height so if you take them out keep an eye on them especially if you let them run on a table for instance. I used to do that - they would have a great time poking around my books and stuff.

It doesn't matter. But all hamsters love to climb and hide. When I got my first two winter whites they didn't know how to climd tunnels but they learned in about an hour or so. Also be careful, because 2 winter whites (even if they are the same gender) can be friends for a while but then turn and try to kill eachother. My two all most did!

I wouldn't recomend the cages which luv2837ian links here. They are too small for any hamster and hamster might get killed if falls from the top of these cages.

The best is at least 20 gallon tank/bin or similar sized cage.

DON'T put two hamsters together unless they are dwarf hamsters. They are very dominant and will kill each other. Even if they lived in the cage together where you got them they will kill each other. I have seen it happen before. And for your hamsters I recommend one of the Critter Trail variety but don't get the expansion pack because it doesn't fit well on the cage. Yes, they can climb very well.
