Help me I have a rat in my house .

Hi, from what you said it sounds like you want the rat out of your house. I hope you are using a live-catch type trap. Please do not attempt to poison it, they die a slow painful death unless they have learned not to touch it. Rats enjoy a great many foods. If you are going to catch it and let it go, I would suggest corn, they love it. They also love avocado, banana, nuts, seeds, cereal and things like spaghetti, lasagna, and french fries. If you catch it and it has unusual markings and/or is very friendly, it may have been a pet. Then you could take it to the humane society. If it's friendly and you want it for a pet, you will want to feed it more nutritious things and get it a friend. Rats are very social and are lonely by themselves. Foods mine won't eat include raisins, watermelon, hot chili, and some types of Asian foods.

if its a pet any fruit veggie or grain will suffice.but take it easy on the sunflower seeds the will give them the runs

At Petco, they have rat and mouse formula. They are healthy seeds. My mice LOVE it! It will make your furry friend healthy and strong. You should give your rat some vegetables about once a week.

Well obviously they like rat pellets from the petstore and but human food wise they like pretty much will eat anything. The only thing that I'm presently aware of that they are poisoned by is citrus like lemon oranges, grapefruits Ect. One of my rats will also not eat celery!
