What kind of guinea pig do you have or would like2007-11-24 22:17:14

i am FINALLY getting a NEW piggy pal for my guineapig today from a breeder in gloversville. yeah!!!! anyways im having alot of problems chosing what kind i should get i think i might want a long hair one. but are they hard to take care of? anyways what kind do you have and what kind would you like to have? and what color if you have a fav. color one ? thanks soooo much

I have 3 girls, one a rex, one a tortoise shell and white and one a self. The rex has wiry sort of puffy hair and requires brushing a bit more than my other girls do, the tortoise shell and white has smooth hair but is patterned a bit like a turtle and the self has smooth hair, the are lot's of different coloured selfs although the one I got is cream.

long haired ones are good to, just brush their hair every day.

Longer haired ones are a little harder to take care of, but you get just as much love out of them. I have a calico male I named Koda, like from Brother Bear, and a long haired black one lived for almost seven years, which I named Mister. So adorable and sweet!

I don't own any guinea pigs, but I would love to take care of some if my mom would let me.=( I'm only 14 by the way. My mom is not exactly a rodent lover, but I managed to get two pet gerbils in the house without too many problems. I have a lilac gerbil named Happy, and an agouti gerbil named Autumn! Those are the only pets I have. If I could have any Guinea pig, it definetly would'nt be long haired. I hate it when they have that long rough hair, it makes them look dirty. I think they look sooo much cuter with short smooth hair. The long hair also requires brushing and frequent bathing. The color of my piggie would probably be a mix of black, brown, and white. I like the ones with many colors!
