REMEMBER:

You NEED to change fresh produce daily and do not leave old food contents in their. The chaff and pellets can be changed when you clean out the hutch, as is the water.

Bath Time:

This should be done every 3 months unless you are doing a competition, in which case every month. It should only be done if the guinea pig is dirty or smelly. Look at the following steps bellow for bathing:

1. Get a clothes basket lined with a towel and place in the bath.

2. Fill with warm water (1-2 inches high) and washing up liquid.

3. Using a hard bristle brush, brush the water through the hair and avoid eyes and ears.

4. Dry very well, do not place back in the hutch until dry.

Anything else:

I provide a series of tunnels (made from pvc pipe 4 inches in diameter) and cardboard box houses.

You can have two sows or two boars together although the two boars are more likely to fight. You can have a boar and a sow together but they will breed.

Overall guinea pigs need at least 1 and a half hours of attention 5 days of the week and up to 3 hours 2 days of the week when you need to clean out the hutch.

You can get guinea pigs from pet stores, breeders or rescues. Before buying one you need to make sure that you have all of the following:

1. Correct hutch

2. Correct bedding
