What kinds of flowers are okay for bunnies to eat2007-11-24 22:17:47

My mom has planted lots of flowers and plants in our yard, most of which, designed to keep bunnies and/or deer AWAY! Maybe just a link or something, Help?!

whoaaa nelly you need to be carefull what thumper is eating . There many poionous plants an animal can find outside Many are in the lily family. LIly of avlley are very toxic. So are daffodils.There are many that are not listed that some think are toxic. Potato plant leaves and tomato leaves aretoxic as they are in the deady nightshade family but of course the fruit of the vegetable is not toxic. This is the case with many plants.

I didn't think you said whether the bunny is being supervised. I am very concerned that stray cats and dogs could also injure your bunny or possibly kill him.

none!! Watch pour for pesticided.. Natural weeds like dandilions are ok, for people too, but I'd stick with carrots from the store... If they eat anything a domesticated animal can get sick... There's a lot of nasties out there.

i feed my bunny dandilions (including the leaves). he really likes them. he also loves cucumbers and sweet potatoes/yams. i wouldn't feed him flowers, but dandilions and clovers and stuff like that are ok.

i woulld be on the safe side and dont give him any flowers only because they might have pesticides or chemicals on then, so just give him veggies and fruits.

Nasturtiums are fine. You can grow and eat them yourself. They taste like radish and the rabbit will go nuts over them.
