What kinds of fruits and veggies do u feed ur guinea pigs2007-11-24 22:17:47

1 piece of lettuce per pig

two huge hand-fulls of hay in the cage each day (we have a big cage and big guinea pigs)

We mix two normal foods too.

That's just what ours eat

you can give them many fruits and veggies

i really cant remember what they cant have in that category because we have such a schedule but the Internet has a lot of info

My pigs daily diet (twice a day):

-Romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, endive or red leaf lettuce

-handful of parsley or cilantro

-1 baby carrot per pig a day

-slice of red or green bell pepper

Occasional treats: cucumber, kiwi, apple, cherry tomatoes

My boys have gas problems with broccoli and spinach, but some pigs do just fine with them.

There are lots more veggies that are ok, but this is our normal list.

Do not feed potatoes, onions, or too many fruits. Fruits are high in water and sugar. Occasional fruit treats are fine, but not too many

My girls get about a cup fresh produce a day. I have tried broccoli, peas, cherry tomato, banana and orange but they did not like these.

Their main diet includes some of the following:

Parsley, cucumber, tomato (not the cherry kind just normal), celery, bell peppers/capsicum (different names for different places), baby spinach, carrots.
