What makes a better pet: a rabbit or a guinea pig2007-11-24 22:17:48

And also, which has more personality, and which is easier to be handled?

[And yes, I know rabbits aren't rodents! I just thought this question fit best here.]

they both make good pets but it depends on what your willing to do-

Guinea pigs tolerate handling much better

Rabbits can kick hard and don't like to be handled.

Guinea pigs need guinea pig friends

Rabbits do, but not so much

Solitary guiena pigs cage can be cleaned 1 a week

Rabbits cage must be cleaned every day

Personaly, i prefer guinea pigs. They are playful, but enjoy cuddling and i think they have more personality.

They both make good pets. I've had both, at different times in my lifetime. The guinea pig, I think has more of a personality. When I would open up the refrigerator it used to start "talking". I think he knew I was getting his lettuce out! Also, when you walked towards him, he used to "talk." Rabbits we had outside, so I can't really say for sure. All I know is they both are good pets.

I think a guinea pig would make a better pet - they do talk! I have had both, the rabbit chewed up a lot of my stuff, but I never had that problem with my guinea pig.

Guinea pigs the best, they need less space and can be very tame. There are a lot of rabbits, some of them coming in large sizes, like the giant rabbat but still they are tame. You try first a guinea pig.

I've had both and I think rabbits make better companions because they are easier to hold, don't bite as much, don't squeal everytime the fridge opens, and aren't as messy (in my opinion). the problem with rabbits is that they are pretty terriotorial and like to stomp their feet on tiled floor lol...can be pretty funny though.
