What should I feed a wild baby mouse
Today I found a baby mouse in a nest in my lawnmower. It had another baby mouse with it, but when the mother came back, she only took that one. Now she's gone, and she isn't coming back.
So I have a baby mouse. Not sure how old it is, but it's eyes are wide open, and it can still fit in the palm of my hand. I tried giving it regular cow milk, but it didn't like it too much. I tried giving it little bits of bird seed, but it wouldn't eat them.
Any ideas?
Answers:It's nearly impossible to rear a mouse who doesn't have hair yet and has eyes closed. I have tryed and they die they need a nursing mom to survive. A fuzzy mouse ( which is weeks older than the hairless newborn has its eyes open it may be convinced to eat. Try some millk in a small dropper. They eat very litle or some milk soaked on a small portion of bread. If your mousy is still lacking a lot of hair he she may not be old enough for adult food like bird seed. Also all mice even adult mice need somethng to hide into feel secure so let himsnuggle under some kleenexes or a wash cloth.
Your mousy will be mature at 6weeks or so and can even have kids of his own at 8weeks or even younger good luck.
If you really want to save him and he still young try putting him back in with mama or calling a rescue or rehabber or vet.
baby mice drink milk. just put it back and the mother may get it. I will die unless you tend to it every minute of every day.
first u should check if it has rabies or sumthin then u should feed it cheese since mice likes cheese if it doesnt like it then feed it seeds
feed it a CAT
The chances are pretty good if the eyes are open.

Just put it back. There is really nothing you can do for it, if it's eyes are closed and hes pink. Remember, the mom only has one mouth, so she can only take one baby at a time. Just leave it there and hope that the mom comes back for it.
I had the same problem a month ago--feed him kitten replacement milk w/ an eye dropper--the milk can be found in the cat food eisle...good luck, my poor little Stewart didn't make it
