they eat seeds, of all kinds, and nuts. some nuts you may have to shell for them. the hamster food is a guide. what do you thing wild hamsters eat. they are a rodent, like mice, rats, rabbets, ect.

My hamster used to like nuts and licking ice cream off my finger. They have pretty delicate systems though, I wouldn't risk it.

Not too much fruits or veggies. They get the runs too.

nuts...as a snack...every two weeks. too many nuts means a lot of fat entering your little guys body...

little bits of dehyrdated fruit every week would be fine. but really everything they need is in their hamster food.

NEVER feed your hamster lettuce. My sister`s hamster died from a chemical in lettuce. Hamsters love strawberries, egg, cooked potatoe, ect. I used to feed my hamster peanuts, and she loved them !
