A male or female hamster? I already have a female.

a male if u want to mate.

You can get either, just don't put them in the same cage because they might attack each other. I've heard some pretty bad stories about this, like biting heads off and getting killed, so I am warning you to not get them in the same cage!

What do you have right now, a syrian or dwarf hamster? If you want to save on buying a new cage and you have a dwarf already, get another dwarf. If you have a syrian, then it doesn't matter what you get, because you won't be able to put the hamsters together because Syrians are solitary hamsters.

A female because they don't smell as much and they will be more social with each other.

a male if you want them to have babys at least thats what I think.

if you have space for young ones why not get a male?

if you don't then try not get get a new one but if you really want get a female for it not to have young hamsters.
