As for a name ur on ur own.But to feed it,you must use only food that is hamster food.They are able to have carrots, but no lettuce,Cleaning at least 3 times a week,at least 2 times wash cage bottle, toys.Do not forget most of all make sure they have sticks in hamster department,this is for their teeth.

Name your hamster Za-van-ash (lol!) I find you should wait at least 24 hours after getting a pet before you name it. You'll find the best name within that time!

Hamsters are one of the easiest animals to care for. Like fish, all you have to do is feed them and keep their habitat clean.

Some hamsters don't like to be handled if their older, but if your getting a real young one, you can raise it to enjoy your company! Don't smother the poor thing, though. Doing that can kill it.

Make sure your hamster has plenty to chew on. Hamsters teeth will continue to grow and the only way to keep their teeth short is to give them something to chew on such as a mineral rock (which you can buy at ANY pet shop).

Also make sure the little guy (or gal) has a den. Something for him/her to sleep in or just get have some alone time.

Last, but not least, if you give it a wheel, they'll not only get all the exercise they need, but the wheel is a hamster's main form of entertainment (hamsters are a simple creature :)
