i am a 10yr old kid and that really wants a hamster. i have tried showing them that i have what it take to have a hamster but they still wont let me have one.They will only let me have a hamster IF i go to a school called Seven Kings. its a school for clever kids and i dont wanna go there.

P.S only my mum hates them coz they look like mice and she HATES animals.please please help i really want a hamster.

hi - first off a school for clever kids is cool!

you might try a rat - rats are very easy to tame and don't bite and the females smell like grape soda - if you keep their cages clean...

you might go to some of the fancy rat sites on the internet and show your mother all about rats and maybe once she sees how much people love them and how easy they are to take care of - who knows...

also, you must be able to spend at least 30 minutes a day playing with your pet - this means taking her out of her cage - holding her, etc. and you must keep her cage clean and her water bottle filled and clean. lastly, you must be able to make a commitment to take her to the vet if she gets sick.

i really don't see how ANYONE could hate animals, however, maybe she just had a bad experience with a mouse :(

If you have a grandma or aunt in town ask them to give it to you for your birthday and keep it at their house. Once you prove to mom you are responsible she might change her mind...
