What size Wodent Wheel is good for a small/medium sized rat2007-11-24 22:18:00

I have had many Rats as pets and none of them seemed very interested in the wheel or even that ball that hamsters like. I would save my money if I were you. They seem to have more fun shredding stuff up and getting treats.

The bigger the better. The rule is that the rodent should fit on the wheel so that its head and tail ends do not have to bend upwards in any way for it to be using the wheel. There is nothing wrong with getting a larger wheel than the rodent needs.

I've never had a rat that was interested in spending much time on wheels. Rats are much to intelligent for stupid rodent toys.

The first answer says all you need to know, but just to add, you MUST get a big wheel because unlike mice, rats are unable to lift their tails, so if the wheel is too small, their tails would get dragged and hit against the wheel.
