What sort of dog biscuits can I give my Hamster Please read for details2007-11-24 22:18:01

I noticed that someone mentioned Milk Bone.

I know that we have been on the fence in the animal community about whether Hamsters are omnivores or vegetarians. But it is often found that Hamsters live longer and healthier as vegetarians. I would personally recommend that you skip the dog treats and head for some fresh organic seeds. Try sunflower seeds, millet seeds, safflower seeds, etc. If you are looking for something a little easier feed your little friend some apple or carrot on occasion. (Be careful not to over do it in the Veggie and Fruit department however, because it often softens stool and makes digestion uncomfortable!)

I never heard of such a thing, they make Hamster chews and hamster food which should be plenty to keep your pet happy and healthy

Old mother hubberd is a good brand to feed animals. They can be a little pricey but i saw them at the biglots near my house the other day. I would choose biscuts that don't have much artifical ingredients such as dyes, maybe try the puppy biscuts that are just plain.
