What time of the night/early morning hours is a hamster most activeURGENT2007-11-24 22:18:03

I need to catch mine, and I need to know what time to get up so I can look for her.

Whenever I had my hamster, he got out, and he used to be up during the day but later in the day, when it was getting dark. If I were you, I would get a plate, put some fruits and/or vegetables on it(hamsters loveeee fruits and vegetables) and maybe when you're watching TV or something, put the plate out where you can see, and he mighttt just come out for it. Or put the plate in something, that when he goes in it, he can't get out. I had to catch my hamster like that and it worked, cause I found him only minutes after he ate part of the apple!!

Don't run after your hamster!!!

Leave the cage out on the floor in the house, where the hamster can access it. Put tons of food in the cage, then put a lot of bedding in. Chances are that in morning you will find your hamster asleep in the bedding after filling its gut

However, my neighbors once had a hamster escape and the hamster didn't show up for 2 weeks, keep trying though

try putting the cage out , also try a bucket trap .

take a deep container tha hamster cant jump out of , bedding in the bottom with some food . Create a set of steps or ramp up to the rim of the bucket. If the hamster jumps in it cant get out and you have it trapped.

The are nocturnal, meaning they sleep during the day and are active at night. She will be asleep by the early morning hours until the early afternoon or so. I would get up dead smack in the middle of the night if you need to catch her.

when i was at my old house my hampster ran away in the basement.. he was gone for a month and i was sure he was dead.. my friends dog came over and started barking at a corner.. it was my hampster laying on a pile of food! i guess everynight he would go to the other side of the basement and get the food i dropped that belonged to my other hampster! he was alive and well.. i was so excited!
