I want to breed with my hampster but what type is best for this sort of thing?
Answers:None...please do not breed small animals of any kind...there are way too many out there without loving homes...
Please leave breeding to profesional breeders.it's just best that way!!
Hamsters are friends and pets, not breeding machines. Just get the two that you like.

Please don't breed your hamsters. Leave that to the professional breeders, like someone already said there are many rodents out there that can't be cared for because of breeding. Not to mention that there has to be careful analyzing of each hamster's genetic background to prevent deformed babies.
i used put to 2 hamsters of different breeds together, not even knowing that one of them was a female lol. and they had 2 babies.
NONE!!!!!! As a former breeder of Russian dwarfs and Syrians, I'm telling you never to breed any animal. Look in the paper and you'll find many people looking for homes for their hamster babies right now. I was contracted with a pet store almost 15 yrs ago as a private breeder. I live in a small town and I found 5 people with up to 8 each, in just one paper (there's 3 to run ads in ). I turned to small animal rescue a couple of years later when I helped out a woman who got way over her head with babies from not separating her hamsters and gerbils. I took in 5 gerbils and 11 Syrian hamsters in one month from her. After that I conferred with my family, contacted a animal rescue and offered my home and love to any and all small animals needing a home or fostering before adoption. I have had to keep many, but I'm fine with that, while others have gotten adopted out. Next week 2 rats are going to one home. I've spent since March trying to adopt out 3 male Syrians and a female Syrian, finally one male was adopted, but sadly his brother died last week from depression of not having his brother with him. The vet tried appetite shots and antibiotics in case of illness, but nothing worked. Syrians are typically solitary aniamls that must be housed alone, but these 3 brothers are an extreme exception to the rule, they are/were 5 months old and in one cage. So please no one try this with their Syrians.
