Have you considered a couple of mice? Females don't smell, and 2 is as easy to care for as 1. Active throughout the day, not evenings and night so much, so no keeping awake issues. Will happily live in crittertrail cages. Very playful, and rarely bite, not too hard to tame either. They never really stop either! But also won't care if you don't handle them, especially if you have a pair or small group.

I would personally get a campbells dwarf hamster. I had mine for about 6 days and she's a total sweetheart. She is VERY active and LOVES to be held. She does not bite, but she only nibbles me when she thinks I'm food. Her fur is extremely soft and I love her to death. Good luck on choosing your hamster!

I just got my first Hamster ever yesterday, it is a Syrian Hamster named Bazal.

She almost escaped the first night, so I had to pick her up, she squirmed a lot and peed on me, but did not bit or scratch.

She will already let me pet her and sit in my hands to eat without freaking out too much, I can tell she is still a bit nervous.

She lives in a Criter Trail Dazzle, and can climb through all the tubes just fine and loves the huge tube wheel.

this isnt a dwarf hamster, but black bear hamsters are the nicest it think. i named mine herman!

i would recommend a teddy bear hamster ive had 2 and they are great pets but don;t go with a dwarf hamster they are the complete opposite of what u want and they bite ALOT

All hamsters are a good choice there are none that are beter than athers all though get a guy and dont put it in a cage with ather hamsters cause there very cool and good. Plus all hamsters are active. Vote me best answer please!
