What veggies can i give guinea pig to replace vitamin c and how often2007-11-24 22:18:07

my guinea pig loves tomatoes but do they contain enough vitamin c for a day?

Answers:

Dandelion greens, citrus fruits, carrots, peas, apples... If it has not been canned or processed, you're getting a nice dose of vitamin C

Fresh veggies- carrots will work very well, just don't give them too many veggies until they get used to them or they will get diareah.

I feed my pigs fresh veggies twice a day, basically a good handful size of dark, leafy lettuces (I buy the Spring mix bagged stuffed from the grocery store). Once a day I'll slice up 1/4 of a red pepper and 1/2 an orange. My pigs love carrots, but you don't want to overdo it on carrots - they're high in calcium and sugar.
