Whats smarter, a guinea pig or a rabbit
I LOVED my rabbit to bits but the downsides are that they need vaccinations every year and almost all need neutering (huge risk of cancer and behavioural problems). So they can be quite costly. My rabbit was noisy at night but my guinea pigs are not (in case you are thinking of having it in your bedroom). My rabbit also needed much more attention.
Guinea pigs sit still and love being stroked and fed but rabbits tend to hate being picked up and sitting still on a lap!
My personal choice is guinea pigs but I found that both made great pets really! Depends whether you want a pet who will sit on your lap (guinea pig) or a pet which is more independant (rabbit).
I don't think that either of them are 'smarter' or 'dumber'. With the correct training, handling and patience an animal can become a mastermind (unless it is a goldfish).
I think that the difference comes down to how much time you put into the care of your pet. If you care for them alot they will 'act' smarter and will genuinley love you.
Personally I think that guinea pigs make better pets because they aren't as moody, aggressive and are easier to care for. They interact on a high level and love food!!:)
