Whats the smallest cage i should get for two guinea pigs
i have asked my parents to get me a guinea pig and reading about them you need more than one and their cages are very big but i don't have much room...any advice?
Answers:Yes, guinea pigs are herd animals by nature thus why they do better in groups of 2 or more. If you do get 1 then you should consider getting another one, as they are very social and enjoy the comfort of a cage mate.
1 guinea pig needs a 7.5sq ft cage, 2 need a 10.5sq ft cage. An easy cage to build, modify and clean is a C&C cage, these are also very cheap but can only be used if you are housing them inside:

They also need about 1 hour of floor time in a piggy safe room, this insures that they get enough exercise. The following site is very good:

In the end there is no point in getting a guinea pig, no matter how much you want one, if you can not provide for them what they need. In your case this is a big cage. In the right weather and in the appropriate cage they can be housed outside, but this is only recommended if the location is right.
Guinea Pigs require quite a big run....get a gerbill or hamster instead.
