Whats wrong with my guinea pig Please help2007-11-24 22:18:16

My guinea pig, Jamie

is pregnant...and she was fine yesterday but, today she can't walk and feels really limb. She won't eat and won't drink...she tries to move but her legs are all going their own way.Is my baby dying? is she trying to give birth? if she was, why is she so weak? I kept her with me last night to keep her warm.

Shes not that old and has been pregnant for a while now, her tummy is huge.

this isn't how she acts usually shes begging for food..now she just lays there on the side of her tummy. D=

Help me please?

she is probably going to go into labor sometime soon.

she knows what she needs for food and water, but she probably doesn't have the appetite if she's going into labor.

if things get any worse, call your vet.

or if you are really worried now, call them right now and ask them.

I have two pigs also (but both males).. i have never had a female. but i have read in books that if you plan to breed your pig you should do it at an early age (since all the bones in her body are alot more flexible, and will stretch for the babies to go tru at birth time). If the female is older, there is a chance of greater birth complications.

If i was you. i would go to the vet (an exotic vet. since not all vets will see guinea pigs).

Take her to the vet! She can become dehydrated very quickly! That's not normal behavior for a Guinea pig about to give birth!

o.k. just wait its realy tired i have a cat and when it was about to have kittens it was tired and didnt want to move when they were about to be born she got into a corner and had them uhhhh she got realy mad so just hold on if it works she will be just fine.and im just saying if she does die youl have evan more more to take care of i hope it works!

Get her to a vet before it's too late. None of her symptoms are normal for a guinea pig.
