Whats wrong with my guinea pig the vet doesnt know 1 year old isnt eating drinking

he has been not well for about 2 weeks now.hes not eating im giving him water through a saringe.he is breathing hard and making a loud screeching noise as he is pantting.is there anything i can do or should i take him to the vets and let him go he is also very unstable on his feet

First you need to find a new vet to at least get a second opinion, you need to make sure that the vet has had experience with guinea pigs and knows what he/she is doing. There is more that can be done before you put him to sleep. Has your vet done any tests? If not then I honestly doubt that he/she is cavvy savvy and has had experience, the following sites should help you find someone decent:

My first though was malocclusion, which is where the molars are overgrown resulting in not being able to eat or drink, and then weight loss. But then not eating/drinking, plus the laboured breath could be a sign of an URI. The loss of balance could indicate an ear infection, without the advice of a professional cavvy savvy vet, it is hard to tell.

Every couple of hours (that means at night too) or so you are going to need to feed your guinea pig water, mashed up pellets. Once a day you need to give him his daily dose of vitamin c, probably through the kids syrup which you can get at chemists. The following site has everything you need to know:
