Whats wrong with my hamster2007-11-24 22:18:16

My hamster is usually active.We moved him into a new cage and now he is always laying in the corner or in the middle of the cage and his eyes are not closed.Hes only a 9 month old syran hamster!What is wrong with him?

Do not , I repeat do not put another hamster in there they prefer to be alone. they usually fight to the death or one will pretend to be dead and starve. check and see if he has wet tail. this is an illness they are prone to and as the name suggestes it is a diarrhea type illness. the tail area will be wet or stained. there is a produst in most pet stores called WET TAIL and you can find it at your local pet store. if itis wet tail good luck to you and the sooner you treat him the more chance you have of saving him it tends to will them very fast

i have a hamster a rat and a mouse...they did the same thing try interacting with the hamster more and see if he starts being happy again.

if not try to get the lil one a partner.

if its a girl get a guy if its a guy get a girl!
