Whats wrong with my hamster2007-11-24 22:18:42

My golden female hamster is a little over 3 years old. She isnt moving much anymore and she has started constintly shaking. She has also lost fur on her nose and tale and patches on her side. she has started just lying on her side she dosent even care if she is in her house and im worried shes in pain. please help me.

Sorry to say, but she may be dieing. Hamsters don't live that long, and to have her 3 years is great.

If you are still worried about her, call you local Vet. They will be able to assist you better.

take her to the vet, hampster don't live very long, usually 2-4 years..mines died at 2.5 years :(

Your hamster is probably over-fed. That is a common reaction of an over-fed hamster... trust me I have one, I've gone through the same thing so I took her to the vet and he said I was feeding him too much. Although he could be dieing if he is 3 years old, hamsters usually only live to four years of age.

Your hamster is probably just old, if she's over 3 years then that's really old for a hamster.

Check her bottom daily for wet-tail disease.

You'd probably be best with putting her down, because she sounds like she's in pain if she just lays down wherever.
