When is it ok to seprate the babies from ther parents2007-11-24 22:18:20Answers:

I'm assuming that you are writing in regards to a rodent, (rat or mouse, hampster) These rodents all reproduce very early in life, and males should be separated from females by five weeks of age. They can go to new homes by six weeks.

please be more descriptive, and I would be happy to elaberate.

What do you have...hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, etc? The father should have been removed before birth, because they can all breed again shortly after giving birth...which is hard on the mother. I need more information, to give you a complete answer.
With all pets, seperating the young from the parents is best at ages 8-10 weeks old. At this age, the young is old enough to stop drinking milk, and can go out in word by itself. But, if seperated at a shorter time then 8-10 weeks, the young may have some mental problems.

I hope that this answers your question! Thanks!

Well it depends if the babies are close to there mom then they can be separted about when they learn to walk. But if not then 3 weeks.
Seperate males from females when they are 3weeks old. Now the females may stay with the mom but the males need to get away from the females or you will have a bunch of pregnant hamsters.
