When my mom and i go to the pet store i always look at the rats and she said i could get a pet rat i2007-11-24 22:18:22

and i e-mailed her asking if i could hold a rat to see if i really want one. what if i really like a rat and the rat really likes me? what should i do to convince my mom to let me have the rat?

Answers:

You need to convince her that you are serious about this and that you will be a responsible pet owner. You're mom is probably scared of your pet of choice, get a book or print out an article from the internet that can show her rats are not as bad as people think. I don't know anything about them but i'm sure pet rats aren't as dirty as regular ones... show her stuff like that.

I had rats growing up. They are very smart and adorable. Try showing her a website about how awesome rats are. I attached one. You might also show her that you are ready to take good care of a pet by behaving responsibly and getting your chores done around the house. Maybe you can earn a little money doing yard work and offer to buy the rat and cage yourself.
