When the earliest is safe to separate baby hamsters from their mom
When the earliest is safe to separate baby hamsters from their mom2007-11-24 22:18:22
Today is 19th day since my female hamster gave birth to the babies, however I already noticed some fighting between them 2 days ago. I am wondering when on earliest they could be separated.
I've read around that 3 weeks is the recommended period, however, I am concerned that in those two days left they could hurt each other. I think their mom is still nursing them ocasionally, however they all eat regular food now. What do you think? Could I separate them already? Can they live on their own now?
Answers:Today is the day to separate them. 19 days old is what is recommended.
