Because my friend just bought me a 8 week old ferret for my b-day.This is my first one too. So I don't no what to do!!
Answers:Okay, if your friend bought the little ferret at a pet store, then it should already be spayed. if it was bought from a breeder, then it should, but theres a little less chance. It is importanct to spay ASAP. They will get moody and will not be easy to care for, less know, but more when the ferret matures. I would get her spayed immediately, to avoid problems later.
Normally ferrets are descented and either spayed or neutered before they even reach the pet store. If your cute little fuzzy has not been spayed (female) then you should get her spayed very shortly. When a female ferret goes into heat, it's very hard on her body and some can develop a condition, that when left unmated during her heat can kill her. The best idea is to contact your veterinarian and ask for his/her advise.

everything should have been done for you at the store. double check with the store that they got it out. ferrets are alot of fun. i used to have 2 of them. enjoy
you have to wait till they are at least 14-16 weeks old to spay a female ferret. Ask your vet, but as long as you don't have any male ferrets around you should be OK.
the sooner the better to spay a ferret.i currently have a "spayed" ferret. She was already spayed. Check with store to make sure if he/she has been spayed or neutered already cuz they are supposed to already.
Ferrets are alot of fun, even though they pool alot. make sure u play with him/her!

I believe you have to have a license to own a ferret that isn't altered.
Your ferret is probably spayed already. Most of the ferrets in pet stores are Marshall or Pathvalley ferrets. Look in the ferrets ear. If there is are blue dots you have a Marshall ferret and it has been descented and altered. Path valley doesn't use the dots.
