the best place to buy a hamster is petsmart ...i know from experience b/c i bought a hamster there and it wasn't evil..at all
I got my hamster at petsmart and he is the sweetest little thing but if your looking for a female petsmart only sells males but I'm not sure if putting the new hamster is a good idea. Hamsters are salutary animals and don't like to live in groups so they may fight.
If the one from Petco is so great, go with a hamster from that store!!

petsmart or petco, go on the weekend, as that is when they sell the most so the selection would be best. I have 3 syrians I bought at petsmart, all females, that's what they sell there.
