I recommend PetSmart or Petco!
I would have to say pet-co they are very helpful there and not as expensive as PETSMART also get a pet-co card it will save you money on all the hamster stuff and the hamster itself so get the card before you purchase the hamster save you a buck also its free to be a member.
Try to get one from a breeder. Most pet stores don't take really good care of the animals. Another reason why to buy from a breeder is because they can answer all your questions about the hamster. Most pet store employees only know enough to get by when someone asks them a question. The breeder can also tell you how old your hamster is, pet stores can't.
Well i like Petco! It is so much cheaper at Petco! If you are a first time owner then i would reccomend getting a Syrian hamster ( more commonly known as teddy bear hamsters) Because they are bigger and easier to hold on to! Also people say that dwarf hamsters bite more! I think that the Syrian hamsters are much more sweet so get one of them!
First you need to know how to spell Dwarf!
Before you go to the pet store to buy the hamsters, check with your local humane society or animal shelter. A lot of times they will have hamsters who have been given up and need a second chance. The best website I've come across by far is www.petfinder.com. You can find local shelters, pet rescues, etc. Just put in the type of animal you are looking for, and your area code, along with some other parameters, and the site will show you all of the hamsters in your area up for adoption and where they are!
Also, dwarf hamsters are easier to adopt together (my husband and I just adopted two from a local pet rescue), but keep in mind that although they are together now, and have grown up together (it's best to get two hamsters that have been raised in the same cage together) there is still the chance that later in life they will have to be separated.
