I want to het my new Syrain hamster a new cage. I think the cage she has is to small. She has a Crittertrail 2 cage. Is it small, she can't fit in the tubes! Should I get her this cage http://www.ukpets247.co.uk/acatalog/pet_... Kit lux 3 or Trek 42?

Should I get her a different cage?

I like the Kit Lux 3, especially if your critter is a little, ah, rounder than most. The little ladders should be easier for you pet to navigate than the tiny tubes in the other model.

We have had both cages and the Trek 42 was easier to keep clean and safer. The tubes on the KIt lux can become slightly detached without you realising (and the hamsters escape). Hamsters are just as happy with centres of toilet rolls, cage bars or kitchen towel tubes to climb in - these also allow them to wear down their teeth!!

I'm gonna have to go with the Trek 42 myself. More platforms, more hiding places, easily able to attach and detached new accessories... I like it. =)

If you don't mind spending another 22 pounds, I would get Hamster land. Otherwise I would get Trek 42, it is bigger and I think the hamster would like it a lot better.

i would get her a bigger cage just to give her extra room. I personally dont like cages that are tall with wire bars and platforms because they can poop on the platform and kick it outside of their cage and they also can chew on the bars which is real noisy and annoying. If i were you I would go with a Critter trail Outlook cage with tube extensions or just a plain old 20 gallon long aquarium with lots of toys.
