Which do you prefer: bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs, or mice (as pets)2007-11-24 22:19:36

If you don't have much time in your day, and don't want to pay vet bills, then you should get a hamster or a mouse. Although a vetrinary appointment is required sometimes when the pet is ill, they do not need as much vetrinary care as a guinea pig or rabbit. They also cost less to maintain, because they need less food, and a smaller cage. But these animals, although I love them and reccomend them as pets, are nowhere near how affectionate and loving a rabbit can be.

I think you should get a rabbit, but who am I to tell you which pet to get. You should get the one that YOU want, and if your heart is set on getting a certain pet, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Make sure that you do alot of research on your pet before buying it.

I prefer gerbils but out of the given I would say bunnies. I helped take care of an abused one three yrs ago. It took MONTHS to get her to allow you to pet her. Never the less, bunnies are sweet and playful (Not with humans though). I also helped with one named Puppy. The rabbit was almost convinced that it was a dog. He would follow you and rub againist you.

As you can tell they each have their own personality. I have dealt with hamsters once and they were rather boring (and I had scrabs on my hands from their choppers :( ). I rarely have dealed with guinea pigs but the person that was in charge of them, loves them. Infact, the one she orignally took care of spends the summer with her. I plan to do some volunteering with a guinea rescue this summer and then I can give MY opinion.
