Just in case you didn't know, pet store piggies are notorious for having mites and upper respiratory infections. Please consider adopting a healthy pig that needs a home.
Seems like you have already chosen the male. I suggest that tonight you read up on the care pages on Guinea lynx, this way you will know the symptoms of a sick guinea pig and will be able to tell which ones are healthier. Remember to stop by a cavvy savvy vet on the way home, even if you think that the one you got is healthy, especially if you are buying from a pet store.
Some people say boars have more personality. Personally I do not think this is true and in the end it comes down to preference.
