Which is better a hamster or a guinea pig
I thinking about shots and vet stuff. I am wondering if I have to vaccinate them like every 6 months or something?
Answers:i've had both several times and it depends on the owner really. if you're more interested in an animal you can interact with guinea pigs ARE VERY FRIENDLY! they like to be loved on, scratched behind their ears and held. hamsters however some are not big fans of it. i can't say all hamsters though... i have had numerous hamsters and only one of them liked to be held and taken out and such.
guinea pigs are awesome. they have some personality and whistle.
hamsters are more fun to watch run in their wheels and tubes and shove food in their cheeks.
good luck with choosing. it's totally up to you if you want an animal that is more friendly or one that is more for just watching.
as for vet costs neither are a big deal. they don't need shots for anything unless they get sick or eat something toxic.
As far as I know, GPs and hamsters don't normally need regular vaccinations, but be prepared to give them vet care if they ever become sick/injured. :) Good luck!
Guinea pigs tend to live longer than hamsters if your talking kids pet go for the Guinea pig
Well, a hamster is quite a bit smaller than a guinea pig, not that it makes it any better. Hamsters like to have toys such as a wheel that they can run in. Guinea pigs can be very loud and plus they need their cage cleaned out more frequently and can be stinkier than a hamster. Hamsters can be more temper mental whereas a guinea pig is more apt to be a cuddler. Good luck with your choice.

I have had both Guiana pig and hamster at the same time and loved them both.Guiana pigs are a lot more calmer don't bite as much. They need a big cage because they grow quickly i went threw 3 cages in about 5 months. They great you with squires and do pop corn which is jump in the At when then are happy. Hamsters are a small ball of fun, mine when I use to put her in her ball would cover the whole 975sq feet apartment in about less then 10 min. Hamsters are totally fine by themselves as long as there are toys and a wheel. Guiana pigs you need to interact with them more. They are both great pets guineas live longer and you tend to spend more money on them. I hope I helped you out
Guinea pigs and hamsters dont really need vaccinations. But as pets, I LOVE GUINEA PIGS!! HAMSTERS BITE AND ARE VERY MEAN!
I would recomend getting a GP. They are much better! I have a hamster and i cant wait till it goes. It stinks! GPs are good but get rat or a GP! Rats are awsome! They are like mini dogs! I am getting one! I will let u know how it is! Here is my e-mail. the_crack_job@yahoo.com
If you would like to own a guinea pig, please look at the links below. C&C cages are the best cage you can give your guinea pig because they are spacey and easy to clean. And I would also reccommend getting a pair of guinea pigs, because they are normally herd animals and do better with a companion. Just make sure that they are the same gender. Please try to avoid Petshops when looking for a guinea pig because the most likely will have mites and URI. Both very bad infections for a guinea pig.
