A guinea pig. Guinea pigs need their hay and food refilled constantly, as well as veggies that are rich in vitamin c. Plus they have a bigger cage, and they use the bathroom anywhere in the cage, making it necessary to clean the cage more often. Hamsters, on the other hand, typically only use the bathroom in one are of the cage, so you can just scoop that particular corner out daily and put in a handful of fresh bedding. Also, guinea pigs are more sociable than hamsters and it's usually best to get two guinea pigs so they have a companion. This is quite different from hamsters who will kill each other if put in a cage together (well, dwarf hamsters won't, but Syrians will).

The thing about guinea pigs, though, is that they are much more affectionate than hamsters. But if you have a limited amount of time to spend with your pet, a hamster may be the better choice.

They are both very easy as long as you get a routine. Guineas are the better for smaller children because they are bigger and easier to handle. They are also up when the children are up.

I used a hand held steam cleaner - it worked very well.

i would say hamster they get lost they chew they eat ALOT of food they pee and poop evey hour.trust me i have one
