Which is harder to take care of, a hamster or guniea pig2007-11-24 22:19:40
I love giunea pigs i breed them to keep because they are so adorable and lovely i love the way they squeak!!They only need i refill of food a day and dont drink so much water also they are much more loving they hapily sit on your lap and its obvios they tell you things they look at you and squeak away.bless them.
I had 2 giunea pigs in one hutch before one was really ill and i didnt know because i hadnt checked them that day the other one told me it squeaked then ran to the other one then squeaked again!!
I would recommend one thing get two they get lonely
I say hamsters!! They bite. Guinea pigs are sweeter! that is my experience
Guinea pigs are harder to take care of because they eat alot more, if you are wanting a small pet, i would recommend a hamster.
I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS HARDER TO TAKE CARE OF A GUINEA PIG SIMPLY FOR IT'S SIZE. HAMPSTERS ARE MOSTLY EASY AS LONG AS THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH A CAGE AND WHEEL TO WALK AND EXERCISE ON WITH ALL THE FOOD AND WATER THEY NEED. JUST A BIT OF LOVE THROWN IN, THAT IS ALL THEY NEED. THEY DO REQUIRE THE BEDDING FOR THEY LIKE TO HIDE SOMETIMES, AND THEY ARE ADORABLE WHEN THEY PLAY. I FOUND GUINEAS TO BE LESS ADAPTABLE TO A LARGER NUMBER OF PEOPLE BEING AROUND,AS THEY SEEM MORE NERVOUS, AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO LIVE AS LONG FOR ME. MY KIDS SEEMED TO END UP CRYING A LOT WHEN I TRIED TO BUY THEM GUINEA PIGS FOR THEY WERE HARDER TO KEEP.
A guinea pig because they're bigger and require more care.
i would say guinea pigs because they are bigger, but they are the better bet. I have one and I have no regrets. Hamsters bite and are nocturnal. Guinea pigs you can litter box train them if you like, hamsters are hamsters. Guinea pigs also have personalities.
I've never owned Guinea Pig, but I like them allot , long story how I ended up with Hamsters instead of a Guinea Pig, but anyways I think Guinea Pigs will end up being higher maintenance because they have longer lives, you need to clip their nails and bathe them every year (what my friend does with her GP). But in the long run, it depends on the actual pet. A Hamster might get hurt and end up being more work and harder to take care of because it is ill, while a Guinea Pig could be fine its whole life. Both need cages cleaned once a week, food and water everyday everyday and both need exercises and love. Guinea Pigs like company.
A guinea pig. But if u want one, u just need to know how 2 take care of it. Here are some webs:
a guniea pig because it is bigger
I would say a guinea pig would be harder to take care of because they are much bigger than hamsters,so they need a bigger cage. They would also eat a lot more than hamsters.Guinea pigs require more care because they are bigger than hamsters. You may have to clean the cage more than hamsters.Hamsters are more playful than guinea pigs.Hamsters are also more fun to watch than guinea pigs.Guinea pigs tend to be more shy than hamsters.
guinea pig
A guniea pig because they are much larger, the smell is much worse and the cage has to be cleaned more often. They need a larger more full habitat and they eat more than a hamster. They are more costly as well. If you still want to get a guniea pig then, one last warning, the boys need more and larger supplies more often than the girls. They smell worse too. In general guniea pigs have claws and they can hurt when held improperly. The upside too a guniea pig though is they are much much much friendlier than hamsters! They pur! xD I would still have to say that guniea pigs are harder to care for but if your not bothered by that then they can be fun!!
I have to say that hamster is harder to take care of. We have had 3 hamsters and 4 guniea pigs.
