I like the hooded rat. If I use newspaper for bedding the ink could come off on the rat so a white rat is not good. Grey rats could be a problem as I may pick up one of the wild ones running all over my house by mistake and put it in the cage. I plan to get two does and let them have a run around the house for about one hour per day. Will they make friends with the wild ones or do they not get on together?

first get rid off the wild rats running all over your house, not only will they pose a health threat to your fancies they already do to you. use either snap traps [killing them instantly] or humane traps and release them at least a mile away

please please please do not use glue traps [ i have seen rodents chew their feet off in an attempt to escape] or poison[ unless you wish one to die a horrible death behind your wall and stink the whole place out]

that is up to you, put your hands in the cage whichever two come running to investigate are the two you want[ as long as theyre the same sex]

5 roan/husky 1 dumbo rest top eared

1 seal point siamese dumbo

1 black berkshre dumbo

1 naked top eared

all of whom, even the rescues chose me, no one colour is better or worse behaved or natured than another

re two does and wild rats making friends, oh yes and then theyll be making babies =)

seriously get rid of the wild ones before getting the girls
