Which kind of rodent is the least agressive
If you are looking for a pet to keep and only have a small amount of room for a cage, then I would probably suggest a mouse. Hamsters can be quite nippy and rats require more room than just a "small space".
Good luck.
I TTLY disagree with "martin h". Hamsters scratch and bite. Guinea pigs are much more sweet & gentle.
I had a hamster... It bit me very hard.
I have a guinea pig. THE BEST PET OF MY LIFE!! They need a medium sized cage but very easy to care for. They are so furry to
My Ex-Wife
I think hamsters they will bite but if you give the hamster time it won't bite you unless it is scared or waken up stuff like that but mostly hamsters are the most gentle and friendly they are sooo cute. They don't cost much either.
I suggest against getting a hamster. The reasons are: 1. They almost always are agressive ( Note that a said ALMOST) 2. If they aren't agressive, as soon as you get attatched to them they die 3. They aren't as handelable.
I suggest getting a cavy or guinea pig. (They mean the same thing) They are lovable, long living companions that love to be held and played with. I have one named duncan who it the cutest, sweetest rodent i have ever had. I have had mice, rats, hamsters, and ferrets and by far my favorite had to be guinea pigs. They are social creatures who can live alone or have a friend to live with (OR MORE) They can very easily be bred though so watch out for that. (But the same thing goes for any rodents)
Hamsters are mean as crap. They sleep pretty much all the time and when they are awake they are so grumpy. My brother and I had hamsters for a while until we couldnt handle them because they were always bitting. I would highly suggest gerbils. They are fun and playful and only bite when they smell food on your hands so make sure to wash your hands before you play with them. And when you try to catch them if they keep getting away from you then you can grab their tail as long as you grab near the butt, they feel barely anything when you do that. And as far as tight spaces for keeping them in, thats a bad idea for any animal. They need their space to play and live.
i have had rats and ginipigs they all can bite when there mad.
gerbil cause hamsters dont like livin w/ eachother.. trust me- first hand experiece... i also think guinea pigs are good cuz mine never bite
Hamster are good only if you either get them young or come from an environment where they're held a lot. Otherwise they are the lowest on the list, from my experience - and I worked a petstore.
