Which makes a better pet: Hamsters or Gerbils & why2007-11-24 22:19:43

if you are a energetic person i think you should get a gerbil. they are high energy, awake alot, like to run, and most of the time they are friendly. the bad things about a gerbil are that they are hard to catch and they need a bigger cage, and they make more noise.

good luck with choosing a pet. i have experience with both of these animals and they are both great!

I was wondering the same question. I heard that gerbils don't bite as much or as hard but they make more noise. I recently had a hamster that died less than a week before I got it. I think I am going to buy another hamster but I'm not sure yet. I'd go with a hamster but it's your opinion : ) ! ! !

Well actually i find hamsters better. None of my hamsters i have ever had ever killed each other. Gerbils on the other hand did. Syrian hamsters are allot friendlier and easier to tame. Dwarf hamsters are hard to tame and can become wild again.

Hamsters are way cuter then gerbils too.
