my friend has rats and they stink! they need to be kept really clean...cage needs to be cleaned at least once a week. rats can bite-hard. but they are so fun to play with...especially if you have big pocketed coats!!

I was very hesitant but caved in and let my husband and son get a pet rat. This was a few years ago and we have had several since then. They are smart and they all have very different personalities. Our last rat was named Puff Ratty and he was awesome. He has passed away but we had a few wonderful years with him and he will never be forgotten.

i LOVED my rats she was going to get shot so we took her from my grandmas friends and she was about six when she died of cancer. it really just depends on what you want. they both do stink but if you bath them every three days and spray thir cage with rodent spray you will be just fine!

Guinea pigs are cute and docile. They come in many colours and coat types. However that's all they do really. They just bound along and will tolerate being handled but they don't really come to you except for a tasty treat.

Rats on the other hand have rough bristly coats (not many people like it) and they have long hairless tails (which freak even more people out) and they have pointy faces. (People normally find rounded faces cuter).
