to be honest about rat, i just have never like the look of them? dont know why i just find them too clever and a bit scary, a rat will alway try to escape, and alot of them will acheive it! as i said before they are very clever?

i cant say anything about mice, never had one dont know anyone that has had one so i dont know nothing about them?

but guinea pigs are sweet, friendly and loyal.

need i say anymore

i would have a read up on them and see what you think?

I personally would get a rat because they are highly intelligent animals and are the smartest of all the small pets. They can learn their name, simple tricks, and even use a litter box. They are cleaner than most people would think. Rats come in many different colors, markings, and coat types too.

Well i personaly like hamsters better and for a first time hamster owner i would get a Syrian hamster (teddy bear hamster) because they are bigger and easier to hold! BUT these are peoples opinion it realllly is up to you so what i would do is research a little bit on them and see which one you like!! Another thing you could do is go to the petstore in the evening ( cuz they are more active in the evening) and pet and maybe hold them and see which one you like! Remember they may bite becuz they are scared!!

Why not a guinea pig? They are cute,cuddly,don't scratch, and don't bite. They are playful and cute! I have 2 guinea pigs and I love them!! I had a hamster and it was mean and scratched and bite me and mice and rats are just.well... not such great pets.

i think from best to worse it is:

1. rat

2. hamster

3. mouse

i honestly hate hamsters and mice as pets, they are not fun and really messy. i've never had a rat, but i hear they are affectionate and playful.

but i would suggest either gerbils (low maintenance) or ferrets (higher maintenance)
