ps, i my self have had experience in two states with all three the pet stores I've mentioned and my opinion is only my opinion...in my opinion petland sucks and is unreliable whereas petco and petsmart are both much more knowledgable
as far as my experience level with hamsters...I have owned seven teddybears and fancies in the past; currently I have one siberain dwarf and one European neither bite however both have been properly tamed...if you do decide on a European as I urge you to do...then you may want to consider a female because when they age their scrotum becomes the size of a large human thumb and it's quite awkward if you have small children around...however if you decide to get a dwarf then I urge you to do the extra research and be prepared to play with it and hand feed it several times a day.with any hamster I suggest a silent spinner wheel: I double this suggestion if you buy a dwarf because of their extra energy

dwarf hamster are mean. I used to work in a pet store. I brought one home and I couldn't even put food in it's cage without it attacking my hand
Niether, get a guinea pig
I would probly say.dwarf. Its smaller. Well... since it is smaller...it could get lost if u take it out of its cage. BUT, i think its cuter than a regular hamster.
A regular syrian hamster. (Teddy Hamster) they are easier to tame and have a better temprement. Dwarf hamsters can ber very hateful.
if its your first hamster, then go with serian, they are bigger, easier to handle, slower, and less mean
