Which pet is a better step up from hamsters2007-11-24 22:19:06

i have 2 hamsters and want a different pet as well. should i get a guinea pig or a holland lop bunny? i want to decide soon. i am naming what ever i get sammy.

I think you should get a guinea pig i have never had one but my friend does and he is very sweet and lovable and has never bit me or my friend! I noramally would suggest a hamster but since you want a different pet i really would trya guinea pig because they are very lovable! Another pet i would try is a rat they are very intelligent and smart so i would consider that as a pet to! I really do reccomend trying to do research on both of them or any other pet you really want and see which one you want! Hope this helped!

Get a ginue(spelled it wrong) pig. they are so cute and loving. Or a bunny.

If you are ready for just a small change then I would recommend a guinea pig but if you want a big change then get a holland lop bunny. ; )

Rabbits! Their poo does not stink, you can feed them vegetables and fruit from your fridge, they are sweet and cuddly. Low maintenance.

I used to have 2 guinea pigs and they make this really annoying squeaking sound constantly... in other words, go with the bunny. Have fun with Sammy!

guinea pigs are average but holland lops are pretty nice!

I would go with the GP, I have had bunnys and GP's at the same time and GP's are less maintnance in the term of cage cleaning. Rabbits poop so much you will have to clen the cage everyday for the rabbit to stay healthy. Also, a rabbit needs to exercise alot and if he's in a cage he won't be happy.

I probably wouldn't recommend a rabbit right away as they are more than people think and live to be about 8-10 years old. I would probably recommend a pet rat. One you get from a pet store not wild one a domestic pet rat and yes their is a difference.

I used to have hamsters. I now have a guinea pig (among other pets). She's low maintenance and a joy. (Female guinea pig urine is less smelly than male guinea pig urine.) My sister-in-law had rabbits and they required a bit more work.
