Which pet should I get Rat,guinea pig,rabbit,or,hamster2007-11-24 22:19:07

I thought I wanted a rabbit,but after I really sat down and thought about it,I really didn't know what to get.

I had a rabbit once. I can tell you that if you keep it indoors, you'll have a LOT of cleaning to do. The cage needs to be cleaned every day or so, and if you let the rabbit out, you have to really watch it or it can chew on cords and do damage. It didn't work out for me. Luckily, I found a good home for my rabbit. Now, I have a cat and a dog. I've had the cat for about 5 years and the dog for 10. If I were going to get a smaller pet, I'd probably get a guinea pig or a hamster. You still have to clean, but not as much, and they don't chew on everything when you take them out to play. I know people keep rats as pets, but after having seen a few on the streets of Detroit, I don't think I'd want one in my house. Whatever you get, just know that it will need a lot of care and attention, but will give you a lot of enjoyment in return.
