Which pet should I get Rat,guinea pig,rabbit,or,hamster2007-11-24 22:19:07

Always think of the pet's needs before you think of anything else.

rats- are playful and need to be stimulated often...or they can get sick. you need to have time to play with it

guinea pigs- have little attitudes all of thier own. most don't like to be snuggled, but are very entertaining to watch

rabbits- very fun pet to have, most bunny owners let thier rabbits have the run of the house like cats and dogs do, as long as the rebbit's not in danger. most rabbits have sweet and docile personalities, with the possible exception of the dwarf, who has a little attitude. but it's cute.

hamsters- are fun to play with, but thier cage must be kept clean always! you need time to clean out the cage once a week. hamsters should be out of thier cage at least 10 minutes a day.

then there's the pricing: guinea pigs and rabbits can be pretty expensive, between the price of the cage & accessories & animal. rats are a bit cheaper, and hamsters are the cheapest.

just remember, though, that you'll need to spend lots of time with whatever animal you get so it with stay healthy and nice.

well rats and guinea pigs are very social. so if you have little time or time thier good. rabbits are more like dog.. and hamsters are very less of social. you can get a nasty one sometimes to.

I would definitely go for a rat, easy to care for, cute, playful, love being handled and are quite inexpensive depending on size of cage, number of toys etc. If you decide to get a rat, you will not be disappointed, they make fantastic pets!
