2. Cage; guinea pigs need a big cage, for 1 guinea pig = 7.5sq ft but as I said they do better in pairs = 10sq ft.

3. Food; a good plain pellet, hay and fresh produce are needed, they eat just about any vegetable

4. Time; they need at least 1 hour a day of floor time, plus cuddles. You will need to clean out their cage every 5 days if you use the correct bedding.

5. Money; guinea pigs are classified as exotic so if they get sick you need to take them to an exotic vet which costs more.

Pets should not be brought just because they are the next fad, a guinea pig can live for up to 8 years. I personally prefer guinea pigs and enjoy caring for them, watching them grow and interacting with them.

if you want a rodent to just be content to being held and petted you should consider a guinea pig or a bunny.

if you want a pet that is not nocturnal, and will like to be pet by you and you can really play with them, then you should get a ferret. they are the most wonderful rodents, and they LOVE to play with you!!

My hamsters have all been sweethearts but they're very active and I think you'll find they definitely run around more than rats. At least, mine. My rats love being around me, the boiys more than the girls. The girls tend to be more curious and the boys tend to be more lazy, once they get older.

i've had all of these pets. rats are WAY more personable and loving then hamsters. guinea pigs are alright but they can get annoying with their squeeking. have you considered a ferret? they do require alot of your time but they are the most rewardable. make sure you do your research so you can be sure you can handle them. good luck

Sugar Gliders are great once you finally get them used to you, they are pretty high-maintenance, though.

Well it depends where u live cos if u live in lyk a flat u shuld get a hapster or a little rodent type pet but if u live in a house u shuld get a dog, cat or a zebra they are very cute.
